The Magazine Brief
A Unified Look for a Stronger Future
Starting with the July/August 2026 issues of Antique Power and Vintage Truck, you’ll notice a small but significant change to our covers. In our ongoing effort to manage production costs without compromising the premium quality you expect from every page, we are moving to a single, unified cover design for both subscribers and newsstands. Historically, we have produced two versions—a cover for our subscribers and an "enhanced" version for the newsstand. By consolidating these, we can streamline our printing process and keep our focus where it matters most: preserving the history of the iron and the stories behind it. We are eager to hear your thoughts on this new look as we evaluate this change for the long term.

The Contributor’s Corner
AP contributor, Chad Elmore tells us more about Freddie Neely, owner of the M-M UDLX we featured.
Freddie Neely of Covington, Ga. competed in Funny Cars during the decade when drivers passed the 300-mph mark on the quarter mile. His career began with drag boat racing in the ‘70s and then in 1989 Neely began competing on the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) Funny Car circuit. He drove drag cars that he owned and also worked for different teams up through 2000. “That’s when I thought I’ve had enough,” he said. “People don’t realize how much work it is running those cars.” A quick search on YouTube will pull up several clips of this feature tractor owner driving his Funny Car at hundreds of miles per hour.
