Fields & Fenders | Issue 08

IMPORTANT—PLEASE READ!

Dear Reader,

It’s no secret that the price of everything has gone through the roof lately, and we’ve been feeling the crunch here at Ertel Publishing, the home of Antique Power and Vintage Truck magazines. For years, the “3 P’s” of our industry—paper, printing, and postage—have been beating us like a rented mule. Through it all, though, we have made every effort to keep the quality of our products high and your cost low.

I am writing to let you know of our latest cost-saving measure and what you need to do to keep enjoying your favorite old-tractor, and old-truck magazines.

After the issue you are holding, Ertel Publishing is going to a subscriber-only system for both of our magazine titles. We are eliminating the cost, inefficiency, and waste of newsstand distribution so we can keep our prices affordable. In other words, you will not be able to buy the January/February 2027 issue of Antique Power or Vintage Truck magazine on any newsstand.

For those of you who already subscribe, not a darn thing is going to change. Your mailbox will continue to receive our printed-on-paper bundle of joy 6 times a year full of old-tractor features, history, entertainment, and world-class photography for less than $6 an issue! That’s right, Ertel Publishing is maintaining the current 1-year subscription rate of $35.95 during this transition! (And did you know that each subscriber gets a free 30-word classified ad in each issue? That alone is a $90 value!)

Those of you who have spent any time with us know that Antique Power, and Vintage Truck are run by a small, diehard group of enthusiasts who live and breathe old farm machinery and classic trucks—and we want to keep you in the family. If you have been buying copies of our magazines from your local newsstand, please consider becoming a subscriber. If you are already a subscriber, thank you for your support!

Keep the old iron alive,

Brad Bowling
