Admit it, “Red” is your favorite tractor color. International tractors and the company’s trucks—affectionately dubbed cornbinders or just binders—both make your heart beat faster. Over the years, both Antique Power and Vintage Truck have served up a marvelous collection of articles to please International aficionados. This paperbound book, published in 2013, offers a visual and text feast of reprints from Antique Power and from Vintage Truck and its earlier iteration This Old Truck, dating back to each magazine’s first volume. A sampling of the 55 Antique Power articles offers a glimpse of the vast range of International Harvester, as well as McCormick-Deering products, including the McCormick-Deering Mogul and Titan, and the whole family of Farmall models—gas- and diesel-powered, yellow industrial machines, and the Cub Cadet. The 48 Vintage Truck articles provide a survey of International trucks ranging from the early high-wheeled Auto-Wagons to light-duty pickups, one-ton models, and the Scout. Some of B. Mitchell Carlson’s “Triple Diamond Treatise” articles cover International’s engines. It is also interesting to see how each magazine’s content, as well as its visual and text presentation, has evolved over the years. Verdict: There needs to be a Best of International, Volume 2.
