This reference guide and history of Dodge C Trucks combines in-depth history with high-quality photos to provide the Dodge C enthusiasts with all the information necessary to correctly restore a truck to original condition or to make a smart purchase. This book covers it all, from light-duty to heavy-duty models. It includes charts for standard equipment and dimensions—everything from chassis length to gear ratios and transmission lineups.
Softbound, 144 pages, 120 photos, 8.5'' x 11''
Despite celebrating its 30th anniversary, Chrysler Corp. was not having a good year in 1954. According to author Don Bunn, the company’s car sales declined by 42 percent, and despite the introduction of the C-series that featured all-new front-end styling and a new cab, Dodge truck sales fell by 30 percent. Bunn’s book covers the complete 1954–56 Dodge light-, medium-, and heavy-duty C-series trucks, with an emphasis on the light-duty models. Bunn made effective use of the resources of the then-Chrysler Corp., its Dodge Truck Division, and collectors when the book was published in 2005. The book offers 120 photographs, primarily from Chrysler, with detailed captions and numerous charts throughout. In addition, the 23-page appendix provides a wealth of information, including specifications; standard, factory, and dealer-installed extra equipment; paint colors; engineering codes; and production totals. Bunn provides retail, as well as dealer, prices and even taxes. While I would have liked some color photographs, especially of the marvelously restored Custom Regal half-ton pickup, as well as the addition of some sales brochures and advertisements, the book is an enjoyable and informative must-have for the truck enthusiast and an absolute must-have for those interested in a restoration.
